Week 6 DAC predictions and power rankings
My Week 6 DAC POWER RANKINGS AND PREDICTIONS!
Power rankings
1. crown point 5-0
2. Valpo 4-1
3. Merrillville 4-1
4. Chesterton 3-2
5. Michigan city 1-4
6. Lake central 3-2
7. Portage 2-3
8. Laporte 0-5
Week 6 predictions!
Merrillville @ Laporte:
Laporte comes into this game with a loss to lake central 24-12! Laporte is still struggling to do much of anything on the season. As I said this is a very long season for the slicers! Merrillville comes in off winning a tight battle with our little brother the Michigan city wolves 14-12! Merrillville had a 14-0 lead at the half. Merrillville came out in the 2nd half and didn’t change the game plan. All we did was run… run…. Run… if merrillville wants to get into the state finals they gotta get the WRs healthy and create a pass game. It seems that Merrillville finally settled on a qb. But Merrillville will have no issues this week with Laporte
Merrillville 35-7
Lake central @ Michigan city: lake central comes in off a win over Laporte. While Michigan city comes in off a loss to rival Merrillville. Both of these teams seem to struggle with the upper tier teams in the Duneland. Lake central seems to be a team rebuilding while Michigan city is young and fast. I’m gonna take the team that had the better run defense and that’s the wolves!
Michigan city 17-14
Crown point @ Valparaiso: let’s just get this over with.. crown point comes in off another dominating win. But it seems that there QB may be hurt. Will that affect them? He was seen in street clothes after half time and was in and out of the medical tent multiple times. Valpo on the other hand comes in off a tight win with rival Chesterton 22-21 OT! This isn’t the Valpo team we have all come to know. This game will go 1 of 2 ways. If Noah is healthy and not hampered crown point will get a running clock by the half. If Noah is out. I can see Valpo pulling an upset. But imma go with healthy.
Crown point 45-17
Game of week:
Portage @ Chesterton: portage is coming off a blowout loss to crown point as most the DAC should be the same. Chesterton comes off a loss to rival Valpo in a game that could have gone both ways. Portage is not the same team they have been in years past. Chesterton is just a Running team this year. I’m going to pick portage to pull the upset to firmly plan themselves in the conversation for 4th place!!
Portage 28-24
DAC conference standings
1. Crown point 5-0 (3-0)
2. Valpo 4-1 (3-0)
3. Merrillville 4-1 (2-1)
4. Lake central 3-2 (2-1)
5. Chesterton 3-2 (1-2)

DAC Week 6 Predictions
Merrillville 42 LaPorte 3
Michigan City 24 Lake Central 17
Crown Point 38 Valpo 24
Portage 27 Chesterton 13
Last Week Predictions
Lake Central 28 LaPorte 10 - Pretty close on the predicted score. Seems LaPorte will continue to struggle and LC will have their chance this week to win 2 in a row for the first time all season.
Crown Point 42 Portage 10 - A little bit more points scored than I thought here on both sides but another lopsided with for Crown Point. Portage will look for their first DAC win this week against Chesterton, a team they could have and should have beat a year ago...
Merrillville 31 Michigan City 17 - Much lower scoring and even more competitive of a game than I thought. That either suggests to me that Michigan City is better than we think or that Merrillville is worse than we think. For now, I'll be an optimist and say City is better than we think.
Valparaiso 27 Chesterton 13 - This game was much closer than I anticipated but it normally always is when these two rivals get together. Valpo squeaked by and got the W, helping ole Jimbo's DAC prediction record. Very curious to see how Valpo handles Crown Point and vice versa.
Jimbo's DAC Record: 25-3
1. Crown Point 5-0 (3-0)
2. Valpo 4-1 (3-0)
3. Merrillville 4-1 (2-1)

Im going to say 3 things.
1. Lake central better be ready this week because we coming in hard and heavy! Our only issue is our QB is inaccurate down the field. He can’t connect with anyone consistently over 20 yards down field.
2. Merrillville is really f***n good. Everyone in our staff at some point coached merrillvilles QB sanders in pop Warner so we all knew what his issue was and we went right at it in the 2nd half. Merrillville ran 7 against 10 the entire game and put up huge rushing numbers on us. If that doesn’t tell you how good that team is nothing will. They can throw also but haven’t needed it. Watch out for a Merrillville/wolf rematch @ wolves den for regionals!
3. No one in the 5A north will stop anyone from the DAC.

Re: Week 6 DAC predictions and power rankings
I am going to infer from your username that you are either (1) a fan/parent/supporter of City football or (2) you are a coach at City. If it is the latter, coming on a message board and talking about your QB for everyone to read about is a little unprofessional. Now if you are a fan, talk all you want about the QB, but as a coach this looks bad and I know the Head Coach would not appreciate it at all, so hopefully no one shows him this post. Not to mention coming on a message board to tell LC you’re coming at them and making predictions of a regionals appearance. NOW, in your defense because I will play devils advocate, City defense is good, real good, but unless that translates to Ws you should probably sit down, humble yourself, and keep your personal convictions about your own team within the staff meetings and yourself.
Now if you are a fan/parent/etc., disregard everything I just said.

Definitely not a high school coach. But my nephew is the JV QB for the wolves. I didn’t mean anything bad ablut the kid he just is very inconsistent in his first year starting and will only get better. But multiple times this year he has missed that deep pass to his cousin ky hart which probably has them undefeated at this point. But I digress. I firmly believe no one in 5A stops a rematch between us

In regards to #3, isn't Concord, Warsaw and Lafayette Jeff all pretty good and in 5A North. This is not to take away from any local teams.Wolvenation2024 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 2:27 pmJimbo23 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 1:07 pmDAC Power Rankings
