Cody’s sectional semifinals predictions (DAC)

Post by DACfanatic »

My SECTIONAL SEMIFINALS DAC POWER RANKINGS AND PREDICTIONS!

Power rankings
1. crown point 9-0
2. Merrillville 8-1
3. Chesterton 5-4
4. Valparaiso 6-3
5. Portage 4-5
6. Michigan city 3-6
7. Lake central 3-6
8. Laporte 0-9

Schedule and predictions

6A

Crown point @ portage:

Crown point win this matchup earlier in the season 58-20. Both these teams have improved but there isn’t enough improvement by portage to make up this gap. Crown point will be too much and take there 1st step toward getting back to the state title game!

Crown point wins 50-10

Lake central @ Penn:

Both of these teams have shown spurts through the year that they can compete with anyone. This game will go back and forth early. Penn needs to establish the run and keep the LC defense guessing. And on the defensive side Penn needs to contain the LC QBs mobility. Penn sets up a rematch next week that we all want to see!!

Penn wins 45-10

5A

Hammond central @ merrillville:

I’m gonna keep this short. Love the team. Love the field. Love the new energy around the wolve program but they don’t have the coaching or the talent to keep up in this game. Merrillville rushing attack mixed with a passing attack that’s starting to show up I’d be suprised if the pirate backups aren’t in at the half.

Merrillville 50-0

(Hammond Morton beats Munster 50-0)

Laporte @ Valpo:

Again I’ll keep this simple. Valpo wins 45-10
Laporte has nothing to count on in this game. Sorry slicers I really wish you found of win a game this year.!!

Game of week:

Michigan city @ Chesterton:

These two teams battled earlier in the year when Chesterton was still trying to replace there injured QB. City won the game 20-0

Michigan city’s defense has been as good as advertised all season but there offense has been nothing to really watch this year: this game comes down to
Strength vs strength; weakness vs weakness!

City D vs Chesterton rushing attack (strength)

Chesterton D vs city offense. (Weakness)

Chesterton RB has been more consistent this year than the Michigan city RBs. But that defense lead by Kansas commit is gonna cause havoc.

This game will be tight and I think comes down to the 4th qtr.

But I’m taking Chesterton to pull out the win at home and set up a chance to win there 1st sectional title!!

Chesterton 21-17

You are correct in that the only game that should be close is the MC/Chesterton one. First matchup Michigan City won 20-0. I would go with Michigan City in a close one.

Brady was still healthy and played the entire game against Michigan City in their Week 3 match up. Brady was not hurt until week 4 @ LaPorte.

Jimbo's DAC Power Rankings
1. Crown Point 9-0 (7-0)
2. Merrillville 8-1 (6-1)
3. Valpo 6-3 (5-2)
4. Portage 4-5 (2-5)
5. Michigan City 3-6 (3-4)

DAC Postseason Predictions
Crown Point 35 Portage 17
Merrillville 42 Hammond Central 7
Penn 35 Lake Central 14
Valparaiso 35 LaPorte 0
Michigan City 17 Chesterton 10

Week 9 Predictions
Crown Point 45 Michigan City 7 - Crown Point keeps the DAC streak alive! City limps into the postseason awaiting a rematch with Chesterton.
Merrillville 35 Chesterton 10 - Merrillville won a closer game than many probably anticipated. A win is a win and the Pirates seem ready to roll. Chesterton will need to find a way to score this time on City's defense.
Valparaiso 31 Lake Central 17 - Closer than I predicted by a score. Lake Central hung tough but couldn't hold on. Valpo heads to the postseason 6-3, and looking to avenge a bad loss to Merrillville, if they can both make it that far.
Portage 28 LaPorte 10 - Portage handled their business and got their 4th win of the season and 2nd DAC win. LaPorte will likely finish the year winless.

Jimbo's DAC Regular Season Record: 38-6

Then the announcers had it wrong at Chesterton game. That’s where I got it from
