Hobart has a referendum coming up in May.

Lets see how much the Hobart residents support Hobart schools. I'll bet on a YES result for Hobart. They, similar to CP, do still have a little bit of Community pride left in the city.

I am not against referendums. I like that the community gets a direct say. I wonder when some districts will say, "Enough, is enough" and stop attempting referendums or they begin losing in the elections. It seems some districts attempt referendums every year.

1. Dean and Barbara White: MANY of the improvements you have seen in CP has been funded by their foundation, both in the schools and youth sports such as the LEGACY FIELDS

2. The current superintendent understands what it takes to compete with the INDY donut county schools, he has an athletic background and understands investing in faciliites will continue to attract families looking for something different

You make some very valid points. Not going to call any of these referendums but chance is in the air. Call it good, bad, or indifferent, change is afoot.

Obviously this is something that other communities can't benefit from BUT they are showing everyone the "blueprint" so it might be time for other communities/ districts to find their Dean and Barbara White (I don't live under a rock I KNOW not every community has people who have it like that, but there's money/ investments to be made in every community).

2. 100% spot on! In addition, the CPHS principal has an athletic background as well. This here poster spent some time in Marcinek's basketball program about 20 years ago at a certain Hammond school that everyone loves to hate, especially now a days. Lol

Agreed 100%. It shows how athletics can work as a "high tide" and raise all ships (school moral, other ECs, community support, etc.).
I taught and lived in CP for 5+ years. I enjoyed it very much.
