Jimbo's Entirely Too Early Top 10
1. Crown Point Bulldogs (Defending Class 6A Runner-Ups)
2. Merrillville Pirates (Defending Regional Champions)
3. Valparaiso Vikings (Defending Sectional 10 Champions)
4. Hanover Central Wildcats (They'll be back! Too much talent and coaching not too)
5. Morton Governors (Too much talent not to like them. Staff being together for another year will help too)
6. Hobart Brickies (Incoming Senior class is a good one and the guys beneath them aren't bad either)
7. Andrean 59er's (No way they're 3-7 two years in a row, right?)
8. Lake Central Indians (Return a ton of experience on Defense. Offense has some holes to fill)
9. Lowell Red Devils (A program that always finds a way to get better. I'd be shocked to see them below .500 again)
10. Chesterton Trojans (See Andrean/ Lowell explanation)

1. CP - Lose about half their starters but have enough talent and the coaching staff to be #1.

2. Merrillville - Lots of returning talent. Maybe it’ll finally be their year in 5A.

3. Valpo - Lose a lot but still have to be #3 based on recent results.

4. Michigan City - This team will have talent. But they did this year too and never put it together. Maybe this staff can get it going in year 2.

5. Hanover - Lose a lot but they’ve been consistently good. Also have some nice pieces returning.

6. Hobart - They’ll be solid and will battle for the NCC title.

7. Chesterton - They were better than their record indicated this year. They’ll be solid again.

8. LC - Waiting for this team to turn a corner. Thought they’d be better this past year but Williams going down really hurt them. We’ll see if Good’s boys can finally do something in the DAC.

9. Lowell - You have to think they’ll be better than this last year.

10. Andrean - Nowhere to go but up after the worst season at 5959 Broadway since the Karras brothers took over.

Way, way, way too early.

I’ll wait until coaches change schools and student/athlete transfer portal is done.

the six years the Karras family coached the program the record was 56-21... worst season was 6-4.

“Since” meaning since they took over from Zimmer and started the modern era of Andrean football…guess I should’ve said “since Zimmer” to make it crystal clear for ya

Zimmer had a 3-7 campaign in 1979 and a 0-9 campaign in 1988. It surprised me in the fact Football did not start at Andrean until 1974.

The Karras era at Andrean never played a schedule like Andrean played this year with Merrillville, Us, and Bishop Chatard in the regular season. They were playing freshmen and sophmores against us this year and I would imagine over the next 2 years that Andrean finds a way to make another deep playoff run.

I would expect them to be improved next year. Schedule still is tough but the quality of play should be better. They were awfully young last year (7-8 freshman/sophomores started or played a lot). Some players they were counting on for big seasons did not pan out. Undersized and absolutely no running game hurt them. Don’t underestimate the loss of last years senior class. Everyone points to Bowen but they had 24 other seniors in that class with a lot of other talent. Big shoes to fill with freshman and sophomores.

They need to get bigger and stronger on both lines. Find a RB1 and QB.
