Battles in the Region

Post by NCCthoughts »

From the games you heard of or watched, what do you think were the best games last season? For the same matchups this year, do you think it'll live up to last year's tough fight? (regular season or playoff games)

Best Games of 2024...
1. Andrean vs Hobart
2. Valpo vs Chesterton (Regular Season)
3. Hobart vs Morton
Honorable Mention... Hobart vs Hanover Central, Merrillville vs Michigan City, and Lake Central vs Portage

Now for the "do they live up to last year" question....
Andrean vs Hobart - Yes. Almost ALWAYS does.
Valpo vs Chesterton - Absolutely yes. One of the best rivalries in NWI.
Hobart vs Morton - Early vote is on yes. Morton fits the 4A mold more than 5A and I think this one will be fun again.
Hobart vs Hanover Central - I don't think it will be as memorable as last year but it will be good football.
Merrillville vs Michigan City - See directly above.
Lake Central vs Portage - Has been tightly contested over the past 7 seasons so why would that change now? Lol

I may be biased as an offensive guy but that game was exciting. Hobart was held to a FG in Overtime though. The Morton OT tudder was a walkoff. I think you're referring to Hobart not going for 2 at the end of regulation? Did that happen? If so, I think we would both agree Hobart should've tried to win it in regulation then, from our perspective of course.
